The 40 meter long cargo vessel Zhe Pu 01833 ran aground near Taohua Dao, China.  The Zhe Pu 01833 had suffered engine failure while en route to Zhoushan with 300 tonnes of cement.  The cargo vessel and drifted on the reef breaching the hull. The vessel’s pumps were unable to control the flooding in the cargo hold and the Zhe Pu 01833 later sank.  All 5 crew on board were able to abandon ship into the life raft and were later safely rescued by a Coast Guard vessel.  The Zhe Pu 01833 was en route to Ningbo from Taizhou.

The 42 meter long coastal cargo vessel Zhe Ding 49067 was blown ashore in the East China Sea off Zhejiang Zhoushan, China. The Zhe Ding 49067 had its anchor drag as heavy seas kicked up as Typhoon Swan passed by. The 5 crew on board were safely rescued, but the vessel suffered damage.  No further details reported.

Zealand Amalia

The 173 meter long, 26,052 dwt general cargo vessel Zealand Amalia became disabled in the Black Sea near the approach to the mouth of the Bosporus. The vessel had suffered engine failure and had dropped anchor a few miles off the Turkish coast.  No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released. The Zealand Amalia was en route to Venice from Mariupol.
