The 85 meter long, self-propelled container barge Alfa Nero (MMSI: 244700592) allided with the bridge over the Empel lock on the Máxima Canal at Empelsedijk, Netherlands. The Alfa Nero was attempting to pass under the bridge when its wheelhouse smashed into the bridge. The wheelhouse was severely damaged, but no reports of injuries or pollution released.

On July 6, the 148 meter long, 18315 dwt bulk carrier Aroyat (IMO: 9151395) allided with the canal wall in the Kiel Canal at Brunsbüttel, Germany. The Aroyat was enroute to Beira from Kaliningrad when it struck the center canal wall on the north lock at Brunsbüttel. No reports of injuries or pollution released. Reports state the Aroyat was allowed to proceed an hour later under its own power.

The Dolfijn was approaching the southern lock when strong currents pull the cargo vessel onto the pilings. The vessel sustained scratches to its paint while the pilings sustained minor damage. The Dolfijn was allowed to proceed on its journey. No reports of injuries or pollution released.
