The 60 foot long fishing vessel Endeavor suffered water ingress near Yaquina Bay, Oregon.  The fishing vessel had been struck by a large swell the night before which caused a leak in the vessel.  The crew had discovered flooding in the engine room and contacted the Coast Guard requesting assistance.  The Coast Guard dispatched the 47-foot long Motor Life Boat to the scene.  The Coast Guard was able to pass two dewatering pumps to the fishing vessel.   With the pumps, the flooding was brought under control.  The Motor Life Boat then escorted the Endeavor back to port.  No reports of injuries or pollution released.

The 65 foot long fishing vessel Vernon suffer water ingress while off Ketchikan, Alaska. The crew contacted the Coast Guard the vessel was taking on water in the engine room.  The 47-foot motor life boat along with the 25-foot response boat were dispatched to the scene.  Once on scene, the Coast Guard crew began operating dewatering pumps and brought the flooding under control.  The rescue boats escorted the Vernon back to Ketchikan.  No reports of injuries.  The cause of the flooding was under investigation.

The 77 meter long, 538 dwt  ro-ro passenger ferry St. Helen had a car deck collapse while berthed at the Fishbourne terminal, Isle of Wight.  The St. Helen had departed on a scheduled voyage from Portsmouth to the Isle of Wight with 181 passengers and 11 crew.  As passengers disembarked, the mezzanine deck was being lowered with 9 vehicles when it collapsed onto the main deck.  Three passengers and 1 crewman suffered injuries and were taken to hospital.  The cause of the collapse was not reported, but a full investigation into the incident has been launched by the MAIB (Marine Accident Investigation Branch).
