On the morning of November 27, the 88 meter long, 4068 dwt cargo vessel Klaipeda (IMO: 9106584) stranded on the Kiel Canal near Dükerswisch, Germany. The Klaipeda was head for Liepaja from Jmuiden when it suffered mechanical failure and became disabled blocking traffic. Authorities halted traffic between Kudensee and Fischerhütte a short period until tugs could take the Klaipeda under tow.  Two tugs proceeded to tow the Klaipeda to Brunsbüttel.  No reports of injuries or pollution released.

On the morning of November 23, the 190 meter long, 56569 dwt bulk carrier Kiran America (IMO: 9491264) became disabled on the Bosphorus Strait off Kanlıca, Turkey. Various conflicting reports state the Kiran America had either suffered rudder failure or had gone adrift due to strong winds by a storm. The result was the bulk carrier found itself just meters from the shoreline and aground. Reports state the vessel was able to make a last minute maneuver and avoided stranding.

Authorities dispatched tugboats to assist the Kiran America.  No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released.

On the night of November 17, the 114 meter long, 4607 dwt tanker Nazan (IMO: 9373747) became disabled on the Bosphorus off the coast of Kandilli, Turkey. The Nazan was en route to Kocaeli from Russia when it suffered rudder failure. The tanker requested help with authorities dispatching tugs to assist. The tugs Kurtarma-7 and Kurtarma-9 arrived on scene and took the Nazan under tow. The vessels proceeded safely to an anchorage off Ahırkapı. No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released.
