On January 15, the 56 meter long cargo vessel Star Lord became disabled in the Taiwan Strait off Changhua, Taiwan. The Star Lord was en route to South Korea from Kaohsiung, Taiwan when it suffered a cargo shift. The vessel sustained a significant list to port.  Unable to correct the list, the crew dropped anchor and sent out a distress call. Taiwanese maritime authorities dispatched a helicopter to the scene. The helicopter arrived on scene and hoisted all 7 crew off the Star Lord to safety.  No reports of injuries.

No reports on salvage efforts for the cargo vessel. Authorities state the Star Lord remains afloat and continues to monitor the area.

The 24 meter long, 103 gt fishing vessel Le Précurseur sprung a leak while bearthed at Boulogne-sur-Mer, France. The fishing vessel suffered water ingress and developed a heavy list to port. Local fire brigades responded to the scene and were able to bring the flooding under control with a pump.  No reports of injuries.

On September 28. the 62 meter long fishing vessel Krossfjord became disabled off Kristiansund, Norway. The trawler had suffered engine failure and was unable to restore power.  The Krossfjord requested assistance and the patrol boat Sortland responding. The Sortland took the Krossfjord under tow back to Kristiansund. No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released.
