On December 3, the 29 meter long, 149 gt tugboat Sylvia M (IMO: 6409064) became disabled in the Atlantic Ocean off Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain. The Sylvia M was towing the 36 meter long, 217 gt offshore support vessel K-Marine IV (IMO: 8977687) when it suffered engine problems.  The Salvamento Marítimo was alerted and dispatched the 21 meter long lifeboat Salvamar Nunki (MMSI: 224049950) along with the 56 meter long, 1190 dwt tugboat Miguel de Cervantes (IMO: 9320116) to assist.  The Miguel de Cervantes took over the tow of the K-Marine IV and proceeded to the port of Las Palmas.  No reports of injuries, damage or pollution.

On December 1, the 85 meter long, 3737 dwt cargo vessel Sea Aries (IMO: 9297125) became disabled at the northern entrance to the Bosphorus Strait near Poyrazköy, Turkey. The Sea Aries was headed to Bandirma from Russia when it suffered machine failure and went adrift. The KEGM was alerted and dispatched the 32 meter long, 197 dwt tugboat Kurtarma-12 (IMO: 9854404) and tugboat Kurtarma-21 (MMSI: 271053647) to the scene.  The cargo vessel was taken under tow and proceeded to the anchorage at Ahırkapı.  No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released.

On November 25, the 88 meter long, 3680 dwt cargo vessel Wilson Goole (IMO: 9126687) became disabled in the Bay of Biscay near Chaussée de Sein, France. The Wilson Goole was headed to Pasajes from IJmuiden with a cargo of steel when it suffered a partial engine breakdown. Due to the worsening weather conditions, the Wilson Goole alerted French authorities who dispatched the 80 meter long, 1811 dwt rescue tugboat VB Abeille Bretagne (IMO: 9308687) to standby near the stricken cargo vessel. The Wilson Goole diverted to Brest at reduced speed escorted by the VB Abeille Bretagne. The vessel would reach the safety of Baie de Douarnenez where it undertook repairs.

The following day, the Wilson Goole was able to complete repairs and resume its voyage.  No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released.
