The 109 meter long cargo vessel Ning Lian Hai 987 sank on the Yangtze River near Wuhan, China. The Ning Lian Hai 987 was en route to Shanghai from Yueyang with 7000 tons of sand when it struck a reef. The impact tore the hull open and allowed water ingress.  The three crew on board were rescued by authorities.  A crane barge was later dispatched to salvage the vessel. Authorities have launched an investigation.

On November 12, the 110 meter long self-propelled barge Con Zelo ran aground just outside the port of Harlingen, Netherlands. The Con Zelo was proceeding to Ghent from Harlingen with a cargo of salt when it ran aground onto the shallows. Several nearby vessels including a KNRM lifeboat attempted to pull the Con Zelo free, but without success. The Con Zelo was refloated later on the rising tide. No injuries, damage or pollution released.

The NSSR 14 meter long lifeboat Bill ran aground onto the rocks near Mandal, Norway. The NSSR lifeboat had struck the rocks damaging the hull on both sides. The vessel sustained water ingress and released some oil into the water. One crewman on board sustained minor injuries.   Booms were placed around the lifeboat until a crane barge arrived and removed the Bill off the rocks.
