The 52 meter long, 813 dwt cargo vessel Frydholm ran aground off Bergen, Norway. The vessel was proceeding with a load of gravel for Etne when it touch bottom between Kongsoy and Alversund.  The cargo vessel sustained damage with two ballast tanks holed and water ingress. Authorities dispatched a lifeboat carrying investigators to the scene.  The Frydholm was able to refloat itself and authorities escorted the Frydholm to Bergen.  No reports of injuries or pollution released.

On June 11, a 65 foot long Guatemalan naval gunboat ran aground on Glovers Reef, Belize. The boat was en route to Mexico when it “lost its bearings” and ventured into Belize’s waters before striking the reef. The Belize coast guard was notified and sent out patrol vessels to the scene.

When the officers of the Guatemalan vessel were interviewed, they stated the vessel had lost steering and gone adrift before it struck the reef.  No reports of injuries.

On June 6, the 138 meter long, 5150 dwt cargo vessel Volgo-Don 5068 ran aground on the Volga River (Uglich Reservoir) near Peretryasovo, Russia. The Volgo-Don 5068 was hauling 5050 tonnes of rubble when it ran aground along the starboard edge of the fairway. No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released. Authorities dispatched a tug, crane barge along with another cargo vessel to help lighter the vessel. Reports state the vessel was later refloated.
