Altona

The 26 meter long passenger ferry Altona went aground on the Elbe River. The Altona was headed to Neuenfelde from Blankenese with 30 passengers when the vessel became stuck in the mud at low tide. Four passengers were safely taken ashore by the DLRG. The remaining passengers remained on board for several hours until the rising tide returned. The Altona proceeded to the nearby pier. No reports of injuries, damage or pollution being released.
Kalutta
The 42 meter long, 457 dwt freighter Kalutta went aground in Ramsund Narrows near Narvik, Norway. The Kalutta was en route to Ramsund with a cargo of stone when it struck a sandbar near the entrance at Ramsund. No damage and no water ingress reported. The crew of five on board were uninjured. The master contacted the Rescue Coordination Centre who dispatched a rescue craft to the scene. The rescue boat will assist with refloating the Kalutta on the next high tide.
