Skulbaren

The 36 meter long fishing vessel Skulbaren went aground off Årviksand, Norway.  The Skulbaren had arrived at Årviksand earlier and unloaded a cargo of pollock.   As the vessel departed, it became stuck on a sandy shoal off the end of the piers.   The Skulbaren was able to refloat itself with the rising tide and proceeded on its way.   No reports of injuries or damage to the fishing vessel.   Local reports state the harbour had not been dredge and that multiple vessels have run aground during the year.

Biostar

The 66 meter long, 2440 dwt freighter Biostar went aground off Vibransoy Island near Stavanger, Norway.  The Biostar suffered damage to its bow and stern.   The crew requested assistance with a lifeboat and tug responding.  The rescue vessels were able to refloat the Biostar.   The tug took the Biostar under tow and proceeded to Garpeskjærskaien.   No reports of injuries or pollution being released.  An inspection showed the Biostar suffered damage to its propeller and rudder.

South River

South River

The 158 meter long, 20731 dwt freighter South River went aground off Kronshtadt Island near St. Petersburg, Russia.   The South River was departing from St. Petersburg with a cargo of scrap metal when it ran aground.  No reports of injuries, damage or pollution being released.  The South River was last reported to have attempted to refloat itself under its own power.
