The 135 meter long passenger ship Viking Tor went aground on the Rhine near Zeitldorf, Germany.   The vessel was en route to Amsterdam from Budapest with 183 passengers when it suffered a malfunction allowing the vessel to go aground by the stern.   The Viking Tor was able to refloat itself, but it had lost its propulsion gear on it’s port side.   The passenger vessel proceeded to Regensburg for repairs.   No reports of injuries or pollution released.   Reports state the damage to the vessel to be around 100000 euros.  Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident.

The 28 meter long fishing vessel Zhejiang went aground on the Yangtze River.  The vessel had suffered water ingress and the crew requested assistance.  Authorities dispatched helicopters and rescue craft to the scene.   All 9 crew were safely rescued.  No further details reported.
