The 24 meter long high speed ferry Tidevind allided with the pier at Hareid, Norway.  The Tidevind was approaching the dock when it made a hard landing striking the starboard bow against the quay. Two crew and one passenger suffered minor injuries and taken to hospital. The Tidevind suffered damage to its bow and was taken out of service.  No reports of pollution being released. Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident.

The 125 meter long, 8800 dwt container ship 3 Oak went aground on the Kiel Canal while en route to Rotterdam from Szczecin.  The 3 Oak had suffered engine failure and drifted onto the embankment.  Traffic on the canal was halted until the vessel was refloated later the same day.  The 3 Oak proceeded under its own power to Brunsbüttel where it was inspected before allowing the vessel continue on its voyage.  No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released.

Laura K

On December 3, the fishing vessel Laura K sank in Broadford Bay. The one crewman on board sent out a distress call that the Laura K had suffered water ingress and was sinking.  The fishing vessel Jamiain and the RNLI lifeboat from Kyle of Lochalsh responded. The Jamiain reached the scene first taking the crewman off the Laura K.  The lifeboat arrived a few minutes later just as the Laura K sank.  No reports of injuries.
