On the afternoon of July 14, the 19 meter long Frontex patrol vessel Pös 602 (MMSI: 237708500) sank  in the Aegean Sea off the coast of the Island of Lesbos near the town of Anaxos, Greece. The Pös 602 had struck a rock off the islet of Agios Georgios during a search and rescue operation.  The grounding resulted in puncturing the keel and uncontrolled water ingress.  The Pös 602 requested assistance with the  Greek Coast Guard along with a helicopter responding. The Greek Coast Guard was able to rescue all 6 crew who had abandoned ship into a life raft.  The crew were later taken to the port of Molyvos. No reports of injuries.  Reports state the Pös 602 sank, but no details if the patrol vessel released any pollution.

On the afternoon of July 13, the fishing vessel Grey Erron became disabled in the West Philippine Sea some 70 nautical miles west of Botolan, Zambales, Philippines. The Grey Erron had suffered a failure in the main engine and the fishing vessel went adrift. The crew sent out a distress call with the Philippine Coast Guard responding. The 97 meter long, 646 dwt  response vessel Teresa Magbanua (IMO: 9908669)  was dispatched to assist. The Teresa Magbanua would eventually reach the fishing vessel several hours later.  The responders would offer aid to a crew member while provide drinking water and medical supplies. An inspection of the engine found it could not be repaired and a service boat was requested. The service boat arrived the following morning.  No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released.

On the afternoon of July 14, the 18 meter long self-propelled passenger ship Willi Abicht (MMSI: 211184720) allided on the Elbe River with the 400 meter long, 197087 dwt container ship Cosco Shipping Capricorn (IMO: 9783514)  in the port of Hamburg, Germany.  The Willi Abicht was proceeding through the container terminal when it suffered rudder failure and drifted into the moored container ship.

The water police stated the Willi Abicht had sustained some damage, but was in no danger of sinking and no pollution was released. Two passengers were slightly injured during the incident. The Cosco Shipping Capricorn only sustained minor paint scrapes from the incident.  The passenger ship was taken under tow to a nearby shipyard for repairs.
