The 105 meter long cargo vessel Pacific Dawn ran aground off Harlingen, Netherlands. The Pacific Dawn had suffered engine failure just as departed from Harlingen and drifted aground just off the breakwater. The crew dropped anchor while two tugs were requested. The tugs were able to pull the cargo vessel free. No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released. The crew was later able to restart the main engine and the Pacific Dawn was escorted to Mongstad.

Lira

Lira

The 89 meter long cargo vessel Lira allided with the Kerch Strait Bridge over the Kerch Strait, Russia. The Lira was passing under the bridge when it struck the construction site on the bridge.  No reports of injuries. The Lira was able proceed to a nearby anchorage before it resume it’s voyage. No details reported on damage to vessel or bridge.

Saeftinge

The 82 meter long self-propelled barge Saeftinge allided with a bridge over the Dortmund-Ems Canal near Altenrheine, Germany. The unloaded Saeftinge was en route to Bergeshövede from Spelle  when it’s wheelhouse struck the bridge.  The wheelhouse was destroyed, but the bridge was undamaged.  No reports of injuries to the two crew on board.  The Saeftinge proceeded to a nearby quay for temporary repairs.
