The 44 foot long fishing vessel Bill B II went aground off Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts.  The lobster boat had suffered water ingress and the crew intentionally ran the Bill B II aground.   The Coast Guard was alerted and dispatched a helicopter along a 57-foot lifeboat.   The helicopter was able to hoist all the crew off the fishing vessel.   No reports of injuries and no pollution was released.  Reports state a salvage plan is being coordinated.

Anna Jinky

The freighter Anna Jinky went aground off Oslob, Cebu, Philippines.   The freighter was en route to Dipolog City from Isabel, Leyte with 10,000 bags of fertilizer when it encountered bad weather and rough seas.  The Anna Jinky attempted to seek shelter when it went aground.  No reports of injuries to the 19 crew on board.  No reports of pollution released.  The Philippine Coast Guard stated a tugboat was requested to help refloat the freighter on the next high tide.
