The 48 meter long, 1513 gt passenger ferry Utsira allided with a pier at Haugesund, Norway.  The Utsira was departing from Haugesund when it suffered engine failure.   The disabled ferry drifted back until it struck the pier.   The bow of the Utsira sustained damage along with the pier.  No passengers were on board and there were no injuries.   The Utsira was taken out of service for repairs.

COLORADO

The 135 meter long self-propelled barge  Colorado allided with the Botlek Bridge on the Outer Maas at Rotterdam, Netherlands.   The Colorado had become disabled after suffering engine failure when it entered the Maas River from the Hartel Canal.  The crew attempted to drop anchor, but the vessel swung and struck the bridge.   Work on the bridge was halted until it could be inspected.   No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released.

The 87 meter long, 3269 dwt freighter Wilson Dover allided with the lock wall and gate on the Ijmuiden at Papenburg, Germany.   The freighter was a bit impatient and proceeded to exit the lock before the lock gates had opened.   The vessel attempted to slow down but hit the lock wall before hitting the lock gate.   The vessel suffered dents in the bow along with scrapes against the hull.   The lock gate was slightly bent from the incident.  No reports of injuries or pollution released.
