On the morning of September 19, the 83 meter long, 6499 gt offshore support boat Wind of Hope allided with a wind turbine at the Ørsted’s Hornsea 1 Wind Farm located in the North Sea off the shore of Hornsea, England. The Wind of Hope struck the wind turbine along its starboard hull sustaining damage above the waterline. The turbine also sustained damage to its base. No reports of injuries to the 72 persons on board the vessel.

The Wind of Hope proceeded to Grimsby to be inspected and assess damage. A full inspection of the turbine was to be conducted. Authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of the incident.

On September 16, the 271 meter long, 80,578 dwt container ship Tokyo Bay (IMO: 9629380) allided with the ro-ro passenger/car ferry Dersa FB-30 at Port of Santos, on the coast of São Paulo, Brasil. The Tokyo Bay had veered out of the navigation lane and struck the ferry which was berthed at a maintenance pier.

There were no passengers on board the ferry and no reports of injuries on the container ship. Both vessels sustained limited damage and no reports of water ingress.

Authorities dispatched a response team to the scene to conduct an investigation into the incident. No reports of pollution released.

On September 11, the 110 meter long self-propelled container barge Nijmegen Max (MMSI: 244012151) allided with the Willems Bridge on the Nieuwe Maas River in Rotterdam, Netherlands. The Nijmegen Max loaded with containers attempted to pass under the bridge when there was a loud bang. Reports state that five upper containers on the vessel had struck the underside of the bridge and followed by falling overboard . The Willems Bridge sustained some minor damage and some damage to its lighting.

The Nijmegen Max proceeded to a mooring at Noordereiland. No reports of injuries. Authorities have dispatched a team to assist in recovering the empty containers. The cause of the allision is under investigation. Reports state the Nijmegen Max may have been overloaded or had misjudged the height of the containers to pass safely under the bridge.
