On the afternoon of October 16, the 38 meter long ro-ro ferry Breitling (MMSI: 211624750) allided with the ferry dock on the Warnow River at Hohe Düne, Germany. The Breitling had made the four minute crossing from Warnemünde loaded with passengers and vehicles when it suffered engine failure as it approached the dock at Hohe Düne. Unable to slow down, the ferry struck the dock was some force. One person on board was seriously injured along with two others who were only slightly injured. All three were taken to hospital for treatment.

The Breitling was taken out of service for repairs while the water police conducted an investigation into the incident.  Reports state the ferry was cleared to resume service later that evening after completing a test run. Authorities have stated the engine failure was due to a technical error.  Reports did not include if the Breitling sustained damage or if any pollution was released from the incident.

On the afternoon of October 14, the 143 meter long, 12,135 dwt heavy lift cargo vessel Yu Zhou Qi Hang (IMO: 9643776) allided with gantry crane while entering the port of Keelung, Taiwan. The Yu Zhou Qi Hang had arrived from Dalian loaded with a brand new gantry crane onboard when the new crane struck the older crane on the pier.  The older crane toppled onto the pier. There was no reported damage to the vessel.

Reports state the incident has disrupted activity at the port on multiple piers. There was no injuries and no pollution released.

On the afternoon of October 9, the 5274 dwt cargo vessel Ji Zhe 7 (IMO: 8359134) allided with the 185 meter long, 38,477 dwt cargo vessel Mimitsu (IMO: 9527958) in the harbour at Hachinohe, Japan. The Ji Zhe 7 was departing from its berth when strong winds pushed the vessel into the berthed Mimitsu.  There were no injuries or pollution released on either vessel.  Reports did not include any details if either vessel sustained hull damage.

The Hachinohe Coast Guard has launched an investigation into the incident. See video report on the incident.
