Around noon on September 25, the 85 meter long self-propelled tanker-barge Amici (MMSI: 211511880) sprung a leak on the Amsterdam-Rhine Canal near Wijk bij Duurstede, Netherlands. Authorities were alerted that the Amici, loaded with a cargo of manure, was taking on water. The local fire brigade was called out and found the vessel had sprung a leak. Aided by the self-propelled barge Salve (MMSI: 244670076) which help stabilize the Amici, fire fighters attempted to help seal the leak.

Reports state the master of the Amici was not on board the vessel during the incident, but he was notified and proceeded to the vessel.  The cause of the leak was not disclosed, but news accounts stated the vessel had suffered prior leaks in the past. No reports of injuries.

On the morning of February 17, the 54 meter long workboat Noord (MMSI: 244750831) allided on the Amsterdam-Rhine Canal near Diemen, Netherlands. The Noord‘s crane struck high voltage cables resulting in two cables falling into the canal with a third cable damaged. Authorities halted traffic along the canal while repairs could be made on the cables. Reports state the traffic on the canal resumed later in the afternoon the same day, but upwards to 50 vessels had been delayed from the incident.  No reports of injuries or pollution released.

Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident. The reason why the crane was elevated high enough to strike the cables was not disclosed.

On August 22, the 183 meter long combination self propelled barge Calypso and cargo barge Calypso 2 (IMO: 244740744) collided with 136 meter long self-propelled container-barge Sarina (MMSI: 244630697) on the Amsterdam-Rhine Canal off Tiel, Netherlands. The cargo barge Calypso 2 had broken free and drifted into the path of the Sarina. The collision resulted in minor hull damage for both vessels.  No reports of injuries or pollution released.
