The 126 meter long, 7712 dwt freighter Anna went aground in Ferrol Bay near San Cristovo, Spain. The Anna was entering the bay when it suffered engine failure and drifted aground. No reports of injuries or pollution released. The Anna was refloated a few hours later by aid of two tugs during the next high tide. The Anna was en route to Ferrol from Esbjerg, Denmark. The 105 meter long self-propelled barge Kaiserberg collided with the self-propelled barge Anna on the IJssel near Zutphen, Netherlands. The Kaiserberg had become disabled due to a power failure and drifted onto the right river bank. The current pulled the Kaiserberg perpendicular swinging the vessel into the path of the Anna. The Kaiserberg suffered damage to its stern while the Anna suffered damage to its bow. No reports of injuries on either vessel. Traffic was blocked on the IJssel for a short period until tugs were requested to refloat the Kaiserberg and tow it to Eefde. The Kaisenberg was loaded with 1200 tons of feed while the Anna was loaded with salt at the time of the collision.
