On September 14, the 128 meter long cargo vessel SV Knyaz Vladimir ran aground on the Don River, Russia. The SV Knyaz Vladimir had reduced speed to pass an oncoming vessel when it was blown aground by strong gust of wind. The following day a tug was able to refloat the SV Knyaz Vladimir. No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released.

The 114 meter long cargo vessel Nicky ran aground on the Azov-Don Sea Canal near Azov, Russia. The cargo vessel was en route to Azov from Istanbul when it ran aground outside the canal fairway. Reports state the initial attempts to refloat the Nicky were unsuccessful and there was a pilot on board at the time of the incident. No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released.

The 119 meter long, 3345 dwt cargo vessel Nefterudovoz 29M ran aground on the Don River near an anchorage off Azov, Russia. Tugs were dispatched to the scene to help refloat the  Nefterudovoz 29M, but the vessel remained firmly aground. Reports state another attempt to refloat the Nefterudovoz 29M  will be done on the next high tide. No reports of injuries or pollution released.
