The 250 gt costal freighter JLL Victorita  went aground during a typhoon at Basco, Batanes, Philippines.   The JLL Victorita was docked at the pier when large waves and strong winds broke the mooring lines.   The JLL Victorita was quickly pushed past the piers onto the nearby shoreline.    All 18 crewmen on board were safely rescued.    The JLL Victorita hull was holed in the engine room, but much of the vessel is still structurally sound.   Authorities are concern if the vessel may release pollution as the vessel had 6,000 liters of diesel fuel on board.   The freighter was in ballast as it had already unloaded its cargo of gravel and sand eariler.
