Duplus

Duplus

The 85 meter long self-propelled barge Duplus allided with a bridge at Brugge, Belgium.  The wheelhouse was destroyed as the vessel passed under the bridge.  The master of the vessel had stopped the engines and went into the foreship before the wheelhouse was crushed.  Damage to the bridge was reported as minimal.  None of the four crew were injured.  Reports state the wheelhouse was not lowered before the Duplus proceeded under the bridge.

Keale

The 80 meter long self-propelled barge Keale suffered a fire while berthed at Antwerp, Belgium.  The fire started on an oil stove where fuel leaked out causing an explosion and fire.   Local fire fighters were able to get the blaze  under control.   The Keale’s cabin was completely gutted by the fire.   No one was on board at the time of the fire.
