On the evening of June 15, the 174 meter long German Naval Supply Vessel Berlin (MMSI: 211211730) allided with the lock at Wilhelmshaven, Germany. The warship departed from the repair pier assisted by 3 tugs when it struck the lock wheelhouse. The wheelhouse sustained significant damage with walls destroyed and debris into the lock chamber. The Berlin sustained a large dent along its starboard hull, but it was able proceeded back to its berth. There were no injuries.

Divers arrived on site and begun removing debris from the lock to allow the gate to function.  By the following afternoon, the lock was reopened. Authorities have stated the wheelhouse will be demolished and a temporary structure will be used for the short-term.

The 33 meter long ro-ro passenger ferry Berlin became disabled on the Trave River near Travemünde, Germany. The Berlin had suffered engine failure and went adrift. Another ferry was dispatched and was able to assist the Berlin back to a quay in Travemünde a short time later. No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released.

The 80 meter long self-propelled tanker barge Nordwind allided with the Mühlendamm lock gate on the River Spree in Berlin, Germany.  The Nordwind was travelling from Treptow when it suffered a technical fault while entering the lock.  The vessel was unable to stop and struck the gate.  The bow of the Nordwind was holed and the gate was destroyed.  The Nordwind proceeded to berth nearby so it could be inspected.  The lock was closed to traffic until repairs can be completed.
