The 40 meter long fishing vessel Nordørn became disabled near Bear Island, Norway. The Nordørn had suffered engine failure and had gone adrift. The Norwegian Coast Guard vessel Barentshav was alerted and set course to intercept the Nordørn.  After several hours, the Barentshav arrived and was able to take the Nordørn under tow.  Both vessels proceeded back to port. No reports of injuries or pollution released.

The 39 meter long fishing vessel Kamaro became disabled near Bjørnøya, Finnmark, Norway.  The Kamaro had suffered engine failure in rough seas with waves reaching 15 foot high.  The crew requested assistance with the JRCC dispatching a rescue vessel and two helicopters to the scene.   The 15 crew on board the Kamaro had to jump into the water in order the helicopter to airlift them.  The first helicopter rescued 11 crew while the second rescued the remaining four men.  The crew were taken to hospital in Hammerfest.  No reports of injuries.   The Kamaro was taken under tow by the rescue vessel KV Harstad and proceeded towards Sørøysundet in Finnmark.   However, the vessels proceeded slowly due to the bad weather.  Reports state a few days later the towline broke.
