London Express
The 295 meter long, 6657 dwt container ship London Express became disabled while on the Elbe River near Blankenese. The vessel had suffered engine failure after a malfunction with the lubrication. The crew slowed down the vessel and dropped anchor. The London Express requested assistance and was taken under tow by three tugs. The vessels proceeded to Finkenwerder where it was moored. No reports of injuries or pollution being released. The vessel was later taken the next day to a nearby quay for repairs.
