On December 1, the 85 meter long, 3737 dwt cargo vessel Sea Aries (IMO: 9297125) became disabled at the northern entrance to the Bosphorus Strait near Poyrazköy, Turkey. The Sea Aries was headed to Bandirma from Russia when it suffered machine failure and went adrift. The KEGM was alerted and dispatched the 32 meter long, 197 dwt tugboat Kurtarma-12 (IMO: 9854404) and tugboat Kurtarma-21 (MMSI: 271053647) to the scene.  The cargo vessel was taken under tow and proceeded to the anchorage at Ahırkapı.  No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released.

On the evening of September 29, the 98 meter long, 4570 dwt cargo vessel Arda (IMO: 8125155) became disabled in the Bosporus off Umuryeri, Turkey. The Arda was headed to Russia from Bandirma when it suffered mechanical failure and went adrift. Authorities were alerted with the KEGM dispatching a vessel to the scene. The Arda was taken under tow and proceeded to a nearby anchorage. No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released.

On March 19, the 94.5 meter long, 4237 dwt cargo vessel Bers (IMO: 9044188) became disabled on the Bosphorus near Istanbul, Turkey. The Bers was en route from Iskenderun to Constanta when it suffered engine failure and went adrift. Authorities dispatched the tugboat Kurtarma 11 to assist. The tug took the Bers under tow and proceeded and to Ahırkapı where the cargo vessel dropped anchor. No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released.
