On July 15, the 178 meter long, 35360 dwt bulk carrier Os Kano 35 became disabled on the Bosporus off Umuryeri, Turkey. The Os Kano 35 was en route to Constanta from Gebze when it suffered a power backout after engine failure.  The crew contacted authorities the vessel was adrift and required assistance. The tugs Kurtarma 10 and Kurtarma 7 were dispatched and took the Os Kano 35 under tow. The vessels proceeded to an anchorage off Kilyos.  No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released.

The 140 meter long, 6970 dwt freighter Mir Jalal Pashayev became disabled on the Bosporus near Üsküdar, Turkey.  The freighter had suffered engine failure and went adrift.   The crew was able to stop the vessel before it went aground by dropping anchor.   The vessel contacted the Coast Guard who dispatch a tug to the scene.  The Mir Jalal Pashayev was taken under tow to Yenikapi for repairs.  No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released.   The Mir Jalal Pashayev had been en route to Taganrok from Istanbul.
