The 45 foot fishing vessel Osprey sank off Point Loma, San Diego, California.   The Osprey with eight crewmen on board had contacted the Coast Guard that there was smoke coming from the engine compartment and the vessel was taking on water.   The Coast Guard  dispatched a helicopter to the scene with a pump.    The crew of the Osprey were able to start the pump, but it was not able to keep up with the water ingress.    The helicopter hoisted all eight men off the Osprey.   The fishing vessel sank shortly afterwards.   No reports of injuries.
