The 40 meter long fishing trawler Angela Arcella capsized in Grand Harbour, Malta. The trawler was carrying bait when it was struck by the 152 meter long, 9422 dwt cargo vessel Maria. The Maria had suffered a mechanical failure while manuevering and struck the Angela Arcella, the moored 88 meter long, 2362 dwt cargo vessel Union and the 29 meter long, 190 dwt tug Lieni. The Angela Arcella rolled over on its port side spilling the two crewmen on board into the water. Both were later rescued and taken to hospital, but no reports of injuries. The Union and Lieni sustained no damage. Authorities responded and booms were placed around the Angela Arcella to contain any pollution released.

The 49 meter long, 463 dwt fishing vessel Lavinniy capsized while berthed in Busan, South Korea. Reports state the vessel had undergone repairs and a pipe had been cut off in the engine room resulting in water ingress. The Lavinniy capsized and partially sank with its starboard hull resting on the bottom. No reports of injuries. The trawler is to be refloated a few days later allowing other fishing vessels to leave port.

The 225 meter long, 74432 dwt bulk carrier Catalina collided with the fishing vessel Lu Rong Yu 58398 in the East China Sea near Ningbo, China. The Catalina struck the Lu Rong Yu 58398 causing the fishing vessel to capsize and later sink. Nearby fishing vessels responded to the scene and rescued two of the 19 crew of the Lu Rong Yu. The two survivors were later taken to hospital, but later died.The remaining 17 crew were still reported as missing. Chinese authorities have launched search and rescue vessels along with helicopters to look for survivors. No reports of injuries or damage on the Catalina. Authorities in Fujian has launched an investigation into the incident.
