On April 28, the 183 meter long, 47300 dwt tanker Coipo collided with the 30 meter long, 276 dwt tug Ona Don Lorenzo at the terminal in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The tug was assisting in maneuvers to dock the Coipo when the two vessels collided. The tug breached the tanker hull releasing oil pollution into the water. Authorities  halted traffic and placed booms around the vessel. No reports of injuries.

Reports state the release of oil was later stopped and pollution removal operations were underway.

On April 22, the 100 meter long, 2779 dwt car carrier City Of Amsterdam collided with the 151 meter long, 13000 dwt container ship Conmar Bay on the Kiel Canal near Breiholz, Germany. The City Of Amsterdam was headed west from Gdansk while the Conmar Bay was headed east from Rotterdam for Helsinki.  At the 48 kilometer mark, the City Of Amsterdam had stopped to allow the Conmar Bay to pass, but the car carrier drifted into the passing container ship. The two vessels bumped with the City Of Amsterdam sustained a 50 meter long gash along its hull some 15 meter above the waterline. The Conmar Bay sustained damaged just to several containers on its port side.

The Conmar Bay proceeded on to Kiel. The City Of Amsterdam proceeded to Rendsburg escorted by a tug. The water police initial investigation and found that strong winds had caused the collision. No reports of injuries and no pollution was released.

The 190 meter long, 56692 dwt bulk carrier Yue Dian 57 collided with the 40 meter long patrol vessel Zhongguohaijing 3062 near Nei Island in the Pearl River estuary, Guangdong, China. The bulk carrier was headed to Tianjin from Guangzhou when it struck the patrol vessel. The Zhongguohaijing 3062 capsized  and sank sending the eight crew into water.  Local fishermen were able to rescue all eight crew. No reports of injuries.

The Yue Dian 57 dropped anchor near the incident site. Authorities quickly dispatched a salvage team to the scene. A barge with a crane was able to raise the patrol vessel.

Reports state the Zhongguohaijing 3062 was engage in monitoring the area for illegal fishing. Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident.
