Morning Spruce

The 198 meter long, 28676 dwt vehicle carrier Morning Spruce became disabled near Oregon near the mouth of the Columbia River.   The Morning Spruce had suffered a power blackout and went adrift.   The crew was able to restore power later the same day.   A tug was dispatched to the vessel to escort it into the river.   The vessel will proceed to Portland, Oregon where it will be inspected by the Coast Guard.  No reports of injuries, damage or pollution being  released.

Luminous Ace

Luminous Ace

 

The 188 meter long cargo vessel Luminous Ace went aground on the Columbia River near mile marker 40.   The vessel went aground after an electrical outage cause the vessel to lose steering.   The crew dropped anchor to avoid the vessel to drift further.   The Coast Guard responded sending a helicopter to do an aerial inspection finding no signs of pollution being released.  While anchored, the crew was able to regain power back on the Luminous Ace.   Tugs will assist in releasing the vessel at the next high tide.   No reports of injuries or damage.
