On the afternoon of October 15, the 302 meter long, 79423 dwt container ship One Maneuver ran aground on the bramble bank  just outside Southampton, England. The boxship had just left Southampton bound for Rotterdam when it lost power and ran up on the sandbank. Unable to free itself the boxship requested assistance. Multiple tugs arrived on scene and were able to refloat the One Maneuver.  The vessels proceeded to the south-east of the Isle of Wight where the One Maneuver anchored.  The vessel was later inspected by divers for any damage.  The divers find one of the vessel’s ballast tanks had been breached.  No reports of injuries or pollution released.

On the morning of October 7, the 172 meter long, 23,023 dwt container ship EA Gannet (IMO: 9937476) allided with the lock wall of the new south lock in Brunsbüttel, Germany. The boxship was leaving the lock when it struck the lock wall. The EA Gannet had some slight damage as some paint scraped off the hull.  No reports of the extent of damage to the lock wall.  After an inspection, the EA Gannet was allowed to proceed on its voyage from Rotterdam to Helsinki.  No reports of injuries or pollution released.

On September 19, the 150 meter long, 12,380 dwt container ship Sky Light (IMO: 9118513) allided with undisclosed two cargo vessels moored in Constanta, Romania. The Sky Light loaded with containers had lost control as it entered the port and struck one vessel’s stern and another vessel on its port side. Authorities state there was major hull damage, but there were no reports of injuries or pollution released.

Local reports state the Sky Light had a pilot on board and there was a tug assisting the boxship at the time of the incident.

Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident.
