On November 25, the 97 meter ro-ro passenger ship Bella Desgagnes ran aground in the Gulf of St. Lawrence near Kegaska, Quebec. The Bella Desgagnes had encountered strong winds reaching in excess of 80 km/h when the vessel struck the seabed off Kegaska.  One of the vessel’s bow thrusters sustained damage.  None of the passengers were injured, but one crewman suffered minor injuries. The Bella Desgagnes proceeded to Sept-Îles at reduced speed.  Reports state divers had made an inspection to the bow thrusters  to see what repairs were necessary.

The 21 meter long fishing vessel Pacifica reported it was in distress in the Pacific Ocean 144 miles from Oahu.  The crew reported to authorities that the vessel had suffered a leak and uncontrolled water ingress.  The Coast Guard dispatched aircraft along with the 87 foot long cutter Kittiwake to the scene.  An HC-130 Hercules airplane arrived and dropped dewatering equipment to the Pacifica.  The crew was able to get the dewatering pumps working and bring the flooding under control.  No reports of injuries.

On September 28, the 80 meter long self-propelled barge The Wave suffered water ingress on the Ems River while berthed in the port of Haren-Emmeln, Germany. The witness spotted The Wave in a near sinking state and alerted the local fire rescue.  The fire brigade started to dewater the vessel with pumps. Booms were placed around the barge to contain any pollution released. No reports of injuries.  Divers inspected the hull, but were unable to find the leak. Eventually, the leak was discovered near the propeller.  The Wave’s cargo of 1000 tons of wheat was unloaded and a company was hired to repair the leak.
