DAMIA DESGAGNES

The 135 meter long, 15100 dwt asphalt/bitumen tanker Damia Desgagnes became disabled and went aground  on the St. Lawrence River near the Iroquois Lock.  The Damia Desgagnes had suffered a mechanical failure before it had run aground. The vessel sustained no damage, injuries or pollution released.

Reports state  two tugs arrived and pulled the tanker free.  Also, the crew were able to repair the mechanical issue and the Damia Desgagnes was proceeding on its voyage.
