The 79 meter long self-propelled barge Orca went aground on the Danube near Winzer, Germany.   The vessel loaded with 810 tons of feed became stuck outside of the river channel.   No reports of injuries or pollution released.   Reports state the vessel required lightering before it can be refloated.

Ursula Klaus

The 85 meter long self-propelled barge Ursula Klaus went aground on the Danube near Deggendorf, Germany.   The vessel’s bow went hard aground on the river bottom causing hull damage and water ingress.   The Ursula Klaus was able to proceed to the nearby shipyard where the local fire brigade arrived on scene.   The firefighters provided pumps to keep the barge from sinking along with a pollution containment tank to avoid any pollution entering the river.   No reports of injuries.   The Ursula Klaus cargo of 600 tons of soybean meal was unloaded at Deggendorf before it proceeded to the yard for repairs.  The water police have launched an investigation into the incident.

Sinn

Sinn

The 105 meter long self-propelled barge Sinn went aground on the Danube River near Regensburg, Germany.   The Sinn became stuck along the shoreline after a navigation error and swung perpendicular by the river until the stern became stuck on the opposite bank.   The Sinn blocked traffic on the Danube for a few hours until it was refloated.   The self-propelled barge proceeded to Mühlhamer Loop where it dropped anchor.   The Sinn was en route to Passau from Deggendorf with 613 tons of soy.
