Denarius
The 18 meter long fishing vessel Denarius caught fire off Orkney, Scotland. The crew activated the vessel’s EPIRB alerting the coastguard. The coastguard was unable to contact the vessel and dispatched rescue boats and helicopter to the scene. The helicopter arrived on scene and found the six crew of the Denarius had escaped to the vessel’s liferaft. The helicopter winched up the six crew to safety. The patrol boat Jura arrived later and took the Denarius under tow back to Macduff. No reports of injuries. The authorities have launched an investigation into the fire.
