The 126 meter long, 7712 dwt freighter Anna went aground in Ferrol Bay near San Cristovo, Spain. The Anna was entering the bay when it suffered engine failure and drifted aground. No reports of injuries or pollution released. The Anna was refloated a few hours later by aid of two tugs during the next high tide. The Anna was en route to Ferrol from Esbjerg, Denmark. The 86 meter long, 840 gt ferry Venus became disabled between Svanesund and Kolhattan, Sweden. The ferry had suffered a broken propeller. No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released. The Venus was taken to Gothenburg for repairs. No further details reported.
The 56 meter long, 1024 dwt freighter Lam Hong 26 sank in the Gulf of Tonkin near Hai Phong, Vietnam. The Lam Hong 26 had become disabled when its propeller had become entangled. The vessel went adrift in heavy winds and developed a significant list. The crew requested assistance with a rescue vessel responding. All eight crew were safely rescued before the Lam Hong 26 sank. The vessel was carrying iron ore from Nghe An to China.
