The 252 meter long tanker Nissos Therassia became disabled at the entrance to the Bosphorus Strait, Turkey.  The tanker was headed for Midia with a cargo of oil when it suffered engine failure. Without power the Nissos Therassia went adrift.  Authorities were alerted and three tugs were dispatched to the scene.  The tugs took the tanker under tow through the Bosphorus and continued into the Black Sea. No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released.

The 180 meter long, 40481 dwt bulk carrier La Richardais became disabled in the North Atlantic Ocean near the Canary Islands.  The La Richardais was 1 mile away from the port of Las Palmas when it suffered engine failure.  The bulker requested assistance with the search and rescue vessel Miguel de Cervantes responding.  The SAR vessel took the La Richardais under tow to a nearby anchorage.  No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released.

The 164 meter long, 20718 dwt tanker Emanuele S became disabled on the St. Lawrence Seaway near Valleyfield, Quebec. The Emmanuel S suffered a mechanical malfunction with steering and dropped anchor near the Larocque Bridge while en route to Montreal.  The crew was unable to make repairs and requested a technician to be flown to the vessel.  No reports of injuries or pollution released.
