The 45 foot long fishing boat Captain Dump II became disabled off the Beaufort Inlet, North Carolina. The fishing vessel dropped anchor and contacted the Coast Guard for assistance. A Motor Lifeboat was dispatched to the scene and took the Captain Dump II under tow. The vessels proceeded into Beaufort Inlet where another fishing boat took over the tow. No reports of injuries or pollution released.

On April 10, the 95 meter long reefer cargo vessel Silver Pearl ran aground in the Ulve Sound near Vågsøy, Norway. The vessel had suffered a technical fault before running aground. No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released. The Silver Pearl was refloated on the following high tide assisted by a tug.  The Silver Pearl proceeded to Måløy for inspection.

The 76 meter long ro-ro passenger ferry Giraglia went aground off Santa Teresa Gallura, Sardinia.  The Giraglia departed from Santa Teresa Gallura with 69 passengers and 15 crew bound for Bonifacio when the vessel suffered a power blackout.  The main engine had failed and drifted onto the rocks just off the shoreline.  The vessel requested assistance and authorities assisted in evacuating  all 69 passengers off the ferry. A tug was requested to help in refloating efforts. No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released. Italian Coast Guard has started an investigation into the incident.
