The 212 foot long, 1525 dwt cargo vessel Minouche was abandon off Haiti.  The Minouche was caught in heavy seas and strong winds from Hurricane Joaquin. The cargo vessel suffered water ingress and developed a 30 degree list to port. The Minouche sent out a distress call that was picked up by the British Coast Guard who forward it to United States Coast Guard.  The USCG diverted a cutter and launched a helicopter to assist the Minouche.  The helicopter was able to hoist all 12 crew to safety and transported them to Great Inagua, Bahamas. No reports of injuries.  No reports if the Minouche remained afloat or sank.

On September 27, the 42 meter long fishing vessel Lincoln was disabled in heavy seas in False Bay near Cape Town, South Africa. The Lincoln became swamped by massive waves and listed over to one side.  The vessel sent out a distress call before the 21 crewmen on board abandoned ship.  Nine of the crew were rescued from the water, but twelve others drowned.  Reports state that some of the crew had slipped through their life jackets. The Lincoln remained afloat and was later taken under tow by another fishing vessel towards Table Bay. The incident is under investigation.

The 10 meter long fishing vessel Renzo – SCH3 became disabled off Scheveningen, Netherlands. The Renzo had its propeller fouled by a net and went adrift.  The vessel drifted towards shore and ran up on the breakwater resulting in hull damage.  The fishing vessel sustained water ingress in the engine room.  The two crew requested assistance with the KNRM lifeboat from Scheveningen responding.  The 2 crew were able to safely abandon ship, but the fishing vessel beached along the shoreline. A crane was dispatched later the same day and lifted the fishing vessel off the beach. No reports of injuries.
