The 110 meter long self-propelled barge Attesa caught fire  while on the Outer Maas off Dordrecht, Netherlands. The fire started in the bow thruster compartment while the vessel was en route to Antwerp from Dordrecht.  The crew alerted authorities who dispatched a fire boat along with the KNRM lifeboat.  The lifeboat and fire boat crews were able to bring the fire under control. No reports of injuries to the three crew on the Attesa. The Attesa was assisted to Dordrecht by port authorities.

The 21 meter long  dredger Pesante sank on the Oude Maas River while berthed at the shipyard in Dordrecht, Netherlands.  The Pesante sinking was spotted by another vessel who raised the alarm.  The local fire brigade arrived to find only the wheelhouse of the Pesante still above water.  Oil pollution was spotted around the vessel.  No reports of injuries.

Tug Capsized

Tug Capsized

The 21 meter long tug En Avant 5 capsized on the Maas River near Dordrecht, Netherlands.   The tug was engaged with another tug dragging a barge when it capsized.   The 4 crewmen on board were able to jump safely into the water.   A ferry picked up the men who were taken to hospital to be checked out.   The En Avant 5 is still attached to the barge.    The cause of the capsizing is not known.   Authorities are conducting an investigation into the incident.
