The 109 meter long, 4458 dwt suction hopper dredger Wilhelm Krüger ran aground on the Ijssel near Kampen, Netherlands. A tug was towing the Wilhelm Krüger bound for Zuiderzee where it was to be scrapped when the dredger ran onto a mud bank.  The dredge remain stuck until the following day until three tugs were able to refloat it. No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released.

On July 5, the 59 meter long hopper dredger HH 305 allided with the berthed fishing vessel Jan Maat in Rostock, Germany. The Jan Maat sustained damage to its port hull with four meters long gash and some water ingress.  The  HH 305 was undamaged.  No reports of injuries and no pollution released.

On October 5, the 54 meter long dredge Prins 4 capsized and sank in the port of Flamanville, France. The foot anchor had become wedged during the ebb tide causing the Prins 4 to heel over onto its port side. No reports of injuries. A slick formed around the Prins 4 as diesel fuel leaked out from tanks on the dredge. Authorities placed a boom around the vessel to contain the pollution. Reports state several thousand gallons spilled out from the Prins 4.
