The 35 meter long dredger Strekker caught fire while at Eemshaven, Netherlands.  The crew requested assistance with a KNRM lifeboat and the local fire brigade responding. With their assistance, the fire was quickly extinguished.  No reports of injuries or pollution released.

Chabira

The 43 meter long, 288 dwt dredger Chabira sprung a leak and sank while berthed at Klaipeda, Lithuania.  Authorities placed an oil boom around the vessel to contain any pollution released.  No reports of injuries.   Reports state the vessel will be raised.  No further details reported.

Robbenzand

The 85 meter long dredger Robbenzand allided with a bridge on the  Noordhollands Canal near Burgervlotbrug, Netherlands.   The dredger had lost steering and veered into the side of the bridge.   No reports of injuries.  Damage to the bridge will require several months of repair.  An investigation showed that the Robbenzand had a broken control rod causing the steering failure.
