The 225 meter long, 75750 dwt bulk carrier Golden Ice caught fire while berthed in Dunkirk, France. The bulk carrier had arrived from Canada and begun unloading operations when the fire broke out in the hold. The fire had started from terminal equipment that had been lowered into the hold. The local fire brigade was contacted and was able to extinguish the blaze from shore while assisted by fire tugs. No reports of injuries and damaged was limited. No reports of injuries.
The 183 meter long, 52550 dwt tanker Hafnia Crux became disabled in the English Channel near Dunkirk, France. The Hafnia Crux had suffered engine failure and gone adrift. A tug was dispatched and took the tanker under tow to Dunkirk. No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released.
The 64gt fishing vessel N-28 Mooie Meid capsized off the coast of Dunkirk, France. A distress beacon was received and rescue vessels from France and Belgium combined to search for the vessel. The overturn Mooie Meid was located with a lifeboat attached, but was unused. Divers investigated and found no signs of any of the 3 crewmen. The vessel was being towed to a more sheltered area, but the vessel is at risk of sinking at any moment.
