The 86 meter long self-propelled barge Itasca allided with a barrier at a railway bridge on the Hunte River near Elsfleth, Germany.  The Itasca was proceeding from Brake with parts for a wind plant went it veered into barrier.  Some 25 meters of the barrier was partially destroyed along with several pillings.  The Itasca suffered only slight damage.  No reports of injuries or pollution released.  Damage was estimated to be over 100,000 Euros.  The Itasca proceeded  to Oldenburg where the water police detained the vessel.  The water police has launched an investigation into the incident.

Eiltank

Eiltank 6

The 86 meter long self-propelled tanker-barge Eiltank 6 allided with a bridge on the Hunte River at Elsfleth, Germany.  The equipment on bridge suffered significant damage estimated around 50,000 Euros.  The Eiltank 6 suffered minor damage to its port railing and navigation light.  No reports of injuries or pollution released.  The Eiltank 6 was able to make repairs and proceeded to Bremen.

Regina

The 80 meter long self-propelled barge Regina allided with a bridge on the Hunte River at Elsfleth, Germany.  The top of the vessel’s wheelhouse was torn off.   The railway bridge was undamaged.   No reports of injuries or pollution released.   The water police detained the Regina until the vessel could be inspected.   Authorities state the master of the Regina had misjudge the height underneath the bridge.
