The 149 meter long container ship Ahs St Georg allided with the pilings while leaving drydock at Emden.   The Ahs St. Gerog was being assisted by two tugs when its main engine failed.   The vessel’s stern drifted onto the pilings.   Both the pilings and Ahs St Georg suffered significant damage.   The vessel was detained for inspection and repairs.   The water police has launched an investigation into the incident.

BF Fortaleza

BF Fortaleza

The 121 meter long, 6800 dwt container ship BF Fortaleza became stranded at Emden, Germany.  The BF Fortaleza was attempted to moor when it became stuck onto an embankment.   The vessel was undamaged, but a piling at the quay was damaged.   No reports of injuries or pollution released.   The container ship was being refitted after a long lay up.

Triton Leader

Triton Leader

The 183 meter long, 18461 dwt vehicle carrier Grande Europa departed Emden and was headed for Walhamn.  The Grande Europa passed by the 199 meter long, 22657 dwt vehicle carrier Triton Leader which was just departing for Bremerhaven.    As the Grande Europa passed by, the suction pulled the Triton Leader and swung it back onto the quay.  The stern struck the quay causing considerable damage to the quay.   No reports of injuries.   The Triton Leader was able to depart a short time later.  No pollution was released.
