Hyundai Global

The 339 meter long, 99086 dwt container ship Hyundai Global suffered a fire while off  Walton-on-the-Naze, England.  The fire started in one of the vessel’s containers and another container was found smouldering.  The crew was able to extinguish the blaze.  No reports of injuries to the 24 crew on board.  The Hyundai Global proceeded on its voyage to Oman.

Royal Sovereign

Royal Sovereign

The 17 meter long fishing vessel Royal Sovereign became disabled while approaching the harbour at Sovereign, England.  The trawler had suffered a malfunction with its steering.  The vessel contacted the RNLI requesting assistance.   The RNLI all-weather lifeboat was dispatched and took the Royal Sovereign under tow.   The vessels proceeded into the harbour where the trawler safely moored.  No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released.

Commodore Clipper

Commodore Clipper

The 129 meter long, 4504 dwt ro-ro ferry Commodore Clipper caught fire shortly after leaving Portsmouth, England.  The ferry loaded with 220 passengers and 39 crew departed Portsmouth headed to Guernsey when a small fire was discovered near an auxiliary engine system.   The crew was able to quickly extinguish the blaze.   No reports of injuries, damage or pollution.   The Commodore Clipper proceeded back  to Portsmouth.
