On November 17, the 23 meter long high speed catamaran ferry Rygercruise became disabled on the Rødne Fjord, Norway. The Rygercruise was en route from Mostraumen to Bergen when a 100 meters of rope fouled one of the two propellers.

The vessel contacted authorities which dispatched the Coast Guard vessel Tyr to the scene. The Tyr took the Rygercruise under tow and proceeded to Bergen. No reports of injuries, damage or pollution released.

The 90 meter long, 630 dwt ro-ro passenger ferry Dharma Kencana II caught fire in the Java Sea between Pontianak and Semarang, Indonesia. The Dharma Kencana II had departed from Pontianak with 119 passengers and 46 vehicles when the crew found a fire broke out on the lower deck. Unable to contain the blaze, the vessel sent out a distress call.  A number of nearby vessels responded including the KM Kirana I Kumai, KM Flores, Sewa Sadewa along with several other vessels.   Passengers and crew abandoned ship and were evacuated to the KM Kirana I Kumai. No reports of injuries reported.

Reports state the superstructure of the Dharma Kencana II was totally gutted by the fire, but the ferry remained afloat.

The 40 meter long, 150 dwt ro-ro passenger ferry Karlsøy ran aground along the southern tip of Vangsøy Island, Norway. The Karlsøy was en route to Belvika with 6 passengers when it veered off course and ran ashore. No reports of injuries. The ferry was refloated a few hours later and proceeded to Belvika. The Karlsøy then proceeded on to Tromsø for further surveys and repairs. No reports of pollution released.  The cause of the grounding was not released.
