The 136 meter long passenger ferry Stena Nautica allided with the breakwater at the port of Grenaa, Denmark.  The ferry was on a scheduled voyage to Varberg with 156 passengers and 68 crew when it struck the breakwater leaving Grenaa. The ferry suffered a 5 meter long crack below the waterline.  The vessel suffered water ingress, but the pumps were able to control flooding. The Stena Nautica returned to Grenaa and passengers were disembarked.  A boom was placed around the ferry to contain any pollution released.  Divers welded repairs the following morning.  Some 800 tons of water had to be pumped out of the ferry’s hull.   The Danish Maritime Authority launched an investigation into the incident.

On July 2, the landing-craft ferry Pancar Indah sank in the Bali Strait near Gilimanuk, Bali, Indonesia. The Pancar Indah loaded with 16 cars and trucks and 35 persons on board encountered rough seas with waves reaching 2 meters high.  The ferry suffered water ingress and eventually sank by the bow.  The Pancar Indah partially sank with part of the superstructure remaining above the surface.  No reports of injuries.

The 122 meter long ro-ro passenger ferry Hardanger allided with the quay at Tau, Norway.  The ferry was approaching the quay when it suffered a power blackout after the main engine failed.  The Hardanger was unable to slow down and struck the quay damaging its bow and broke concrete off the quay.  No reports of injuries. The ferry was able restore power and back off the quay.  The Hardanger reversed back into dock to allow the vehicles to disembark.  Divers were contracted to inspect the ferry for damage. Norwegian authorities have launched an investigation  into the incident. The ferry was coming from Stavanger with 105 passengers and 11 crew.
